Job Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations for patients across pediatric, adult, and geriatric demographics utilizing established assessments along with observational methods.
- Craft personalized treatment strategies that focus on immediate and sustained communication, cognitive, or swallowing goals.
- Deliver focused one-on-one speech therapy sessions that encompass communication, language, fluency, voice, and swallowing interventions.
- Collaborate seamlessly with related healthcare professionals including physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, and family members to create integrated care approaches.
- Provide educational resources to patients and their families, ensuring that advancements continue beyond the clinical environment.
- Participate in occasional inpatient evaluations and interventions to maintain a continuum of care throughout the patient's therapeutic journey.
- Document treatments and progress in a timely and accurate manner, complying with state, federal, and organizational standards.
- Remain engaged with the latest developments in the field, participating in ongoing education and collaborative peer learning opportunities.
- A Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
- Completion of a Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) for those who are not yet ASHA-certified.
- Current state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
- Preferred: CCC-SLP from ASHA.
- Obtain Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within the first month of employment.
- Expert in applying evidence-based therapy for a variety of ages, including a thorough grasp of both developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing conditions.
- Exceptional interpersonal communication skills to work effectively with patients, their families, and multidisciplinary care teams.
- Adept at modifying therapy techniques to cater to varied cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
- Strong clinical reasoning and problem-solving capabilities.
- Proficient in using electronic medical records while adhering to documentation regulations.
