Assistant General Counsel, Litigation, Labor & Employment

We are looking for an experienced attorney with a minimum of 5 years of expertise to join our in-house legal team as an Assistant General Counsel, Litigation, Labor and Employment , specializing in litigation and labor & employment matters. Key Responsibilities Provide strategic legal advice and counseling on labor and employment law issues, including hiring, discipline, termination, pay and benefits, insurance, global mobility, wage and hour compliance, discrimination, harassment, and accommodations. Manage and oversee litigation matters, including employment disputes, commercial litigation, and regulatory investigations. Draft, review, and negotiate employment‑related agreements (e.g., separation agreements, non‑competes, confidentiality agreements). Partner with HR and business leaders to develop and implement policies and training programs that ensure compliance with labor laws and mitigate risk. Direct and conduct internal investigations and support compliance initiatives. Collaborate with outside counsel and manage litigation budgets and strategy. Monitor legal and regulatory developments and assess their impact on the organization. Provide clear and practical legal counsel to internal stakeholders and navigate complex and sensitive situations effectively. Qualifications Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school and admission to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction. Minimum of 5 years of relevant legal experience, including law firm and/or in‑house counsel roles. Deep knowledge of federal and state employment laws (e.g., Title VII, ADA, FMLA, FLSA). Experience in‑house providing advice and counseling to business partners. Extensive litigation experience. Strong analytical, communication, and negotiation skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast‑paced environment. High ethical standards and sound judgment. Exceptional advising and counseling skills with the ability to navigate difficult situations. Preferred Qualifications Experience in a corporate legal department of a publicly traded company.
