Position Summary

The Retention Marketing Specialist supports the execution and optimization of Skullcandy's retention marketing programs, with primary ownership of email and SMS channels. This role plays a critical part in engaging existing customers, driving repeat purchase, and strengthening long-term brand relationships.

In addition to day-to-day channel execution, this role partners closely to support loyalty program development, consumer insights, and retention strategy . The ideal candidate is organized, data-curious, and excited to learn how retention, loyalty, and customer behavior work together to drive growth.

Primary Functional Responsibilities

Email & SMS Execution (Primary Ownership)

• Execute and optimize email and SMS campaigns across promotional, lifecycle, and triggered messaging.
• Manage campaign & triggered flow setup, QA, scheduling, and deployment to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
• Support audience segmentation and targeting to improve relevance and performance.
• Maintain campaign calendars and ensure alignment with ecommerce and promotional priorities.

Performance Tracking & Optimization

• Monitor channel performance including open rates, CTR, conversion, and revenue contribution.
• Analyze results to identify trends, learnings, and optimization opportunities.
• Support A/B testing of subject lines, messaging, timing, and offers.

Loyalty Program Support

• Support in the development and ongoing optimization of the loyalty program.
• Assist with loyalty campaign execution, member communications, and program reporting.
• Help analyze loyalty member behavior and engagement trends.

Consumer Insights & Analytics Support

• Partner with Analytics and Retention leadership to help surface customer insights related to repeat behavior, engagement, and lifecycle performance.
• Assist in building reports and dashboards to track retention health and customer cohorts.
• Translate insights into actionable recommendations for retention programs.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Work closely with Ecommerce, Creative, Digital Experience, and Growth Marketing teams to ensure retention messaging aligns with site experience and brand voice.
• Coordinate with Creative and Digital Experience teams to deliver high-quality email and SMS assets.
• Support cross-channel planning and execution during key launches and promotional moments.
• Stay ahead of industry trends, leverage emerging technologies, and champion AI-driven solutions that enhance CRM performance, personalization, and operational efficiency.

Required Experience & Skills

• 2–3 years of experience in retention marketing, lifecycle marketing, or CRM-related roles.
• Hands-on experience executing email and/or SMS campaigns.
• Basic understanding of ecommerce and retention KPIs.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple campaigns at once.
• Analytical mindset with comfort working in performance dashboards and reports.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Experience with email and SMS platforms (e.g., Klaviyo or similar).
• Exposure to loyalty programs or customer insights work.
• Experience in DTC or ecommerce environments.
• Interest in customer behavior, lifecycle marketing, and long-term brand building.
