Logistics & Demand Planning Manager Location: Dallas–Fort Worth, Texas Company: ComtecNova North America Employment Type: Full-Time Position Summary ComtecNova North America is seeking a highly organized and analytical Logistics & Demand Planning Manager to lead demand forecasting, inventory planning, inbound logistics, warehousing coordination, and customer delivery performance across our North American operations. This role will serve as the primary link between Sales, Product Management, Finance, Customer Service, warehouses, suppliers, and our global manufacturing teams. The successful candidate will develop accurate demand plans, optimize inventory levels, improve product availability, and ensure products are delivered to customers efficiently and cost-effectively. The ideal candidate has experience managing supply chain and logistics activities for HVAC controls, electronics, building automation products, consumer products, or another hardware-based business with international manufacturing and North American distribution. Key Responsibilities Demand Planning and Forecasting Lead the monthly demand-planning process across product families, customers, channels, and regions. Develop rolling forecasts using sales history, customer projections, pipeline activity, seasonality, promotions, product launches, and market trends. Work closely with Sales and Product Management to validate forecast assumptions and identify changes in customer demand. Measure forecast accuracy and forecast bias and implement corrective actions. Support the monthly Sales and Operations Planning process by presenting demand, inventory, supply, and risk scenarios. Translate sales forecasts into purchasing and replenishment requirements. Inventory Planning and Management Establish appropriate inventory targets, safety-stock levels, reorder points, and stocking strategies. Monitor inventory availability, turns, days on hand, backorders, excess inventory, and obsolete inventory. Develop action plans to reduce slow-moving and excess inventory. Balance customer-service requirements with working-capital and inventory-reduction objectives. Coordinate inventory plans for new-product launches, product transitions, phase-outs, and end-of-life products. Partner with Finance to ensure inventory reserves and inventory reporting are accurate. Conduct regular SKU-level inventory reviews and recommend purchases, transfers, substitutions, or liquidation actions. Logistics and Distribution Manage inbound shipments from international and domestic suppliers to North American warehouses. Coordinate ocean, air, parcel, and ground transportation while optimizing cost, lead time, and reliability. Work with freight forwarders, customs brokers, carriers, warehouses, and third-party logistics providers. Monitor shipment status and proactively communicate delays, shortages, or supply risks. Ensure shipping documentation, customs information, tariff classifications, and import records are accurate. Support compliance with applicable import, export, customs, and transportation requirements. Review freight invoices, transportation costs, warehousing charges, and logistics-service performance. Identify opportunities to consolidate shipments, improve routing, reduce expedited freight, and lower total landed cost. Supplier and Manufacturing Coordination Coordinate purchase requirements and delivery schedules with global manufacturing and supply‑chain teams. Monitor supplier lead times, production schedules, order confirmations, and shipment commitments. Escalate material shortages, capacity constraints, quality issues, and delivery risks. Maintain accurate purchase‑order dates and supply‑planning information within the ERP system. Support supplier‑performance reviews covering delivery, quality, responsiveness, and cost. Develop contingency plans for critical products and supply‑chain disruptions. Customer Service and Order Fulfillment Partner with Customer Service and Sales to ensure customer orders are fulfilled accurately and on time. Monitor open orders, backorders, past‑due orders, fill rates, and customer delivery commitments. Prioritize constrained inventory based on customer requirements and business priorities. Communicate product availability and realistic delivery dates to internal stakeholders. Support resolution of shipping discrepancies, freight claims, damaged products, and warehouse issues. Improve order‑to‑delivery processes and customer‑service performance. Systems, Reporting and Process Improvement Maintain accurate demand, supply, purchasing, inventory, and logistics data within the ERP system. Develop dashboards and reports covering forecast accuracy, inventory health, supplier delivery, freight costs, fill rates, and backorders. Identify and correct data‑quality issues affecting planning and execution. Standardize demand‑planning, purchasing, logistics, and inventory‑management processes. Support ERP improvements, warehouse transitions, and supply‑chain technology initiatives. Document procedures, controls, approval processes, and responsibilities. Lead continuous‑improvement projects focused on service, cost, inventory, and operational efficiency. Key Performance Indicators Forecast accuracy and forecast bias. Inventory turns and days of inventory on hand. Excess and obsolete inventory. Customer fill rate and on‑time delivery. Backorder value and aging. Supplier on‑time delivery. Purchase‑order and shipment‑date accuracy. Expedited freight costs. Freight and warehousing costs as a percentage of sales. Inventory record accuracy. Working‑capital improvement. New‑product launch availability. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Operations, Business, Finance, Engineering, or a related discipline. Five or more years of experience in demand planning, supply planning, logistics, inventory management, or supply‑chain operations. Experience working in a product‑based business with physical inventory and international suppliers. Strong forecasting, data‑analysis, inventory‑planning, and problem‑solving skills. Experience managing freight forwarders, warehouses, carriers, customs brokers, or third‑party logistics providers. Strong understanding of purchasing, lead times, safety stock, inventory turns, landed cost, and order fulfillment. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, lookups, data analysis, and planning models. Experience working with ERP, MRP, inventory‑management, or demand‑planning systems. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work across Sales, Finance, Product Management, Customer Service, suppliers, and global teams. Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment. Preferred Qualifications Experience in HVAC, thermostats, building automation, smart‑home products, electronics, controls, appliances, or related industries. Experience working with contract manufacturers or suppliers in Asia. Experience supporting wholesale distribution, OEM, retail, multifamily, hospitality, or contractor channels. Experience leading an S&OP or integrated business‑planning process. APICS CPIM, CSCP, CLTD, or another relevant supply‑chain certification. Experience with product launches, phase‑outs, engineering changes, and lifecycle inventory planning. Familiarity with import compliance, tariffs, harmonized tariff classifications, and international shipping documentation. Leadership Competencies Commercially minded and customer focused. Highly analytical and data driven. Proactive in identifying and resolving risks. Comfortable challenging assumptions and holding teams accountable for forecast inputs. Able to balance customer service, inventory investment, and operational cost. Effective in a multicultural and globally connected organization.
