Job Title: Panel Builder / Control Panel Assembler Job Description

This role focuses on building, wiring, and assembling electrical control panels in a clean, climate-controlled shop environment. You will interpret electrical schematics and blueprints, mount and wire components, and ensure each panel meets established electrical standards and quality expectations. The position requires strong attention to detail, the ability to work independently, and a commitment to maintaining a safe and efficient workspace.

• Maintain a strong working knowledge of applicable electrical standards such as NEMA, NEC, UL, and IEC.
• Wire panel devices accurately according to provided electrical schematics and wire lists.
• Route and bundle wires and cables neatly in accordance with established electrical and industry standards.
• Check and verify all work to ensure error-free, high-quality products before completion.
• Keep detailed red-line documentation of any changes required during manufacturing and submit updates upon project completion.
• Layout and mount electrical components in control panels based on drawings, prints, and schematics.
• Assemble electrical control panels from simple schematics and wiring diagrams, ensuring proper connections and terminations.
• Perform basic mechanical tasks such as drilling, tapping, and mounting components on panels and enclosures.
• Maintain a neat, organized, and safe work area at all times.
• Provide and properly maintain the personal tools necessary to perform daily job functions.
• Collaborate with other panel builders and team members on the shop floor to ensure efficient workflow.
• Assist occasionally in employee development activities and continuous improvement initiatives related to panel assembly and wiring.

• Demonstrated ability to follow and understand assembly instructions, including drawings, prints, and electrical schematics.
• Proficiency in wiring assembled components from simple schematics and wire lists.
• Ability to layout and mount electrical components accurately in control panels.
• Working knowledge of electrical standards such as NEMA, NEC, UL, and IEC.
• Experience with panel wiring, control panels, and electrical wiring practices.
• Ability to work efficiently and productively without direct supervision.
• Strong attention to detail to ensure error-free wiring and assembly.
• Capability to read and interpret blueprints and electrical schematics.
• Mechanical aptitude for tasks such as drilling, tapping, and mounting components.
• Commitment to maintaining a safe, clean, and organized work environment.

• Experience in panel building, machine building, or electrical assembly in a shop environment.
• Hands-on background with control panels, panel wiring, and electrical controls.
• Familiarity with mounting components and assembling electrical enclosures.
• Interest in participating in continuous improvement and process enhancement activities.
• Willingness to assist in employee development and knowledge sharing with teammates.
• Comfort working with standard hand tools and power tools required for panel assembly.

You will work in a climate-controlled, well-lit facility that prioritizes employee comfort and well-being. The role is based on a shop floor environment working alongside other panel builders. The facility is climate controlled and well lit, providing a comfortable and professional workspace. Standard shifts include a first shift from approximately 6:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with flexibility on start time as long as you arrive by 8:00 a.m. and complete your eight-hour day. A second shift runs from 3:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. on a 10-hour schedule, with an additional hourly shift premium and fixed start and end times. The environment involves hands-on work with electrical panels, tools, and equipment, with an emphasis on safety, organization, and collaboration.

This is a Permanent position based out of New Berlin, WI.

The pay range for this position is $54000.00 - $77000.00/yr.

Up to 6% bonus at EOY After 1 year, eligible for Profit sharing (25% of annual salary) Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment. This is a fully onsite position in New Berlin,WI.
