Marketing Manager

Job Description:

Status: Full-Time, Non-Exempt
Salary: $80,000 to $85,000 annually, commensurate with experience
Location: Walla Walla, WA (on-site/ some travel)

The Walla Walla Valley Wine Alliance (WWVWA) is a 501(c)(6) nonprofit trade association representing the wineries, growers, and industry partners of the Walla Walla Valley American Viticultural Area. WWVWA builds the reputation and economic vitality of the region through branding, marketing, member services, signature events, and destination promotion in partnership with organizations such as Visit Walla Walla.

The Marketing Manager leads marketing strategy, brand management, campaigns, content, and marketing operations for the Alliance. This role supports member engagement, consumer promotion, organizational visibility, and program success by developing and executing integrated marketing plans, managing key partnerships and vendors, and ensuring consistent messaging across all channels. We're looking for a hands-on marketing professional who pairs strong social media, paid media, email marketing, content, and membership marketing experience with real technical fluency — someone comfortable owning email marketing platforms end to end and using AI tools to work faster and smarter across content creation, campaign optimization, and reporting.

Core Responsibilities
Marketing Strategy, Annual Planning, and Budget Management - Collaborate with the Executive Director to develop and manage the annual marketing plan and budget in alignment with organizational priorities and member goals. Define marketing goals, target audiences, key messages, channels, timelines, and success metrics for annual and campaign-specific initiatives.

Campaign and Media Planning - Develop integrated media plans across print, radio, digital, and social channels to support campaigns, events, and promotional initiatives, including signature programs and seasonal campaigns (Spring Release, Wine Month, and ad hoc promotions). Manage campaign scheduling, audience targeting, frequency, and creative asset delivery to ensure timely and effective execution.

Brand Stewardship - Oversee implementation of the organization’s brand, messages, and ensure consistent and accurate representation across all channels, materials, and communications.

Marketing Materials and Platforms - Oversee production of annual member-facing and consumer-facing materials, including the Wine Guide, advertising content, maps, brochures, and media kits. Manage website content updates, coordinate with web development support, and oversee the creation and maintenance of print and digital marketing assets.

Campaigns and Content - Lead and orchestrate special marketing projects. Collaborate with members, wineries, growers, and partners to produce content and promotions.

Marketing Operations
• Manage and direct external vendors for marketing, brand and content support (creative, digital, production), defining scopes, deliverables, timelines, and quality control.
• Own email marketing campaign strategy and execution — list segmentation, automation, content deliverability, and performance analysis — across multiple audiences.
• Identify and apply AI-powered tools to improve marketing efficiency and effectiveness, including content drafting, campaign optimization, audience insights, and reporting.

Program and Member Support - Support organization programs, signature events such as Walla Walla On Tour and sponsored events like Basalt Bash, publications, and member initiatives through coordinated marketing, communications, and project assistance. Lead creation, production and distribution logistics for the Wine Guide and other printed materials, including scheduling, packaging, delivery coordination, and the collection of logos, listings, and advertising materials. Support membership-related communications and initiatives by helping develop materials, promote member opportunities, and maintain accurate and compelling information for members and prospects.

Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, business, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience. Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in marketing, communications, campaign management, or a related role, with demonstrated experience in social media marketing, membership or association marketing, and email marketing program management.

Preferred Skills and Competencies - Strong written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to adapt tone and messaging across member and consumer audiences.
