Special Chemistry Technologist

Labcorp seeks a Special Chemistry Technologist for its Portland laboratory to perform electrophoresis and related testing on patient specimens. The role involves operating specialized instrumentation, ensuring specimen quality, and maintaining rigorous quality control and safety standards on a evening shift.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate specimen acceptability and perform electrophoresis testing
• Operate, monitor and troubleshoot laboratory instrumentation
• Execute routine and complex technical procedures per departmental protocols
• Conduct preventive maintenance, quality control and reagent preparation
• Report accurate and timely test results for patient care delivery

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in life science or medical technology
• ASCP or AMT certification
• Ability to pass standardized color blindness test
• One or more years of clinical laboratory special chemistry experience (preferred)
• Strong attention to detail and multitasking capability
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
