Contract | Nights | 3x12-Hour Shifts (19:00–07:00)

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care for an adult to geriatric population on a Cardiac Stepdown/Overflow IMCU unit with a 1:5–6 nurse-to-patient ratio on a 32-bed unit
• Manage and monitor continuous IV cardiac drips including Amiodarone, Cardizem, Dobutamine, Dopamine, Milrinone, and Nitroglycerin, as well as diuretics, anticoagulants, and insulin drips
• Perform arrhythmia management and cardioversion for conditions including stable A-Fib, SVT, and Bradycardia, as well as care for CHF, chest pain, renal, pulmonary, PE, DVT, and DKA patients
• Care for post-cardiac cath patients, apply and manage TR Bands, and support surgical patients including those with chest tubes and biliary drains
• Utilize TR Bands and apply Med-Surg skills as needed, including management of occasional orthopedic or CVA overflow patients who are transferred to appropriate units as soon as possible
• Float within the facility within scope of practice as needed; respond to on-call needs with a 2-hour response time (call is rare)

Required Qualifications

• Active RN licensure in Georgia or a Compact state required at time of submission
• Minimum 1 year of Cardiac Stepdown or comparable RN experience; first-time travelers are not accepted
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Demonstrated experience managing continuous IV cardiac, diuretic, anticoagulant, and insulin drip medications
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Basic arrhythmia knowledge and proficiency with SBAR communication required

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with Epic EMR and Pyxis medication dispensing systems
• Background in overflow IMCU or mixed acuity settings including pulmonary, vascular, and surgical patient populations
• Familiarity with TR Band management and post-cardiac catheterization care
