Job Opportunity – Medical-Surgical / Telemetry Registered Nurse – North Carolina

Location: Wilmington, North Carolina

Schedule: Night shift, 1845-0715, 36 or 48 hours per week, 1:6 nurse-to-patient ratio

Highlights:

• 36-bed Med/Surg and Telemetry unit serving adult and geriatric populations
• Comprehensive case mix including cardiac recovery, renal failure, surgical cases, respiratory conditions, and chronic disease management
• 13-20 week contract assignments with self-scheduling flexibility
• 24-hour orientation with robust interdisciplinary support including Rapid Response Teams, Pharmacy, Respiratory Services, and Physical Therapy
• Required certifications: BLS and NIHSS; ACLS and Telemetry certification preferred
• Opportunity to float within hospital system and develop diverse clinical experience

Requirements:

• Active North Carolina or Compact State RN license
• Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg or Telemetry nursing experience required
• Current BLS and NIHSS certifications required; ACLS preferred
• Demonstrated competency in telemetry monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Strong skills in IV therapy, medication administration (including Heparin, Insulin, PCA), blood product administration, and wound care
• Experience with central lines, PICC lines, feeding tubes, chest tubes, and respiratory support (BiPAP/CPAP, High Flow Nasal Cannula)
• Proficiency with electronic health records; Epic experience preferred
• Must pass EKG competency testing prior to start date
• Willingness to work every other weekend and major holidays as assigned
• Ability to serve on Storm/Hurricane Team during catastrophic events or disasters
• Flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions only)
