Prava Therapy is looking for a Full-Time Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our embedded therapy team at The Kensington Sierra Madre.

If a resident is working toward greater independence with dressing, grooming, toileting, transfers, or mobility, why shouldn't therapy happen when those things actually occur?

That's why this role offers flexibility to work into the evening hours when clinically appropriate , helping residents work toward their goals during meaningful daily routines—including evening ADLs.

Because sometimes the best therapy session isn't an exercise.

It's getting ready for dinner.

It's managing a nighttime routine.

It's practicing the skills needed to participate in life with greater confidence and independence.

As a COTA with Prava, you'll work closely with residents and the occupational therapy team to translate the plan of care into meaningful, functional progress.

You'll be part clinician, part coach, part problem solver—and an important part of the resident's daily experience.

• Provide skilled occupational therapy interventions under the direction and supervision of the Occupational Therapist.

• Help residents improve independence and participation in meaningful daily activities.

• Address ADLs and IADLs including dressing, grooming, toileting, bathing, transfers, functional mobility, and other daily routines as appropriate.

• Use real-life activities and the resident's environment as opportunities for therapeutic intervention.

• Have flexibility to work into evening hours when clinically appropriate to address evening ADLs and functional goals.

• Help residents practice skills at the time and in the environment where those skills matter most.

• Support residents with cognitive, physical, and functional needs, including residents living with dementia.

• Adapt activities and environments to help residents succeed.

• Provide caregiver and community staff education to reinforce strategies outside of therapy sessions.

• Communicate observations, progress, and changes in resident status to the supervising OT and interdisciplinary team.

• Build meaningful relationships with residents and families.

• Document efficiently and thoughtfully using Prava's technology and AI-enabled tools.

• Measure progress based on meaningful functional outcomes—not simply minutes.

• Contribute to a therapy culture that is collaborative, clinically curious, and deeply resident-centered.
