Front Desk Coordinator View role

The front desk is the practice. It is the first voice a nervous patient hears, the person who finds them a same-day slot, and the last handshake before they book their next visit. We are looking for a Front Desk Coordinator who can hold a busy schedule together — answering the phone before it goes to voicemail, confirming tomorrow's column, and greeting the person standing in front of you as though they were the only one there. Dental experience helps, but we can teach the software and the terminology. What we cannot teach is warmth under pressure. What you'll do Answer every incoming call promptly and book, confirm, reschedule, and recall appointments to keep the schedule full. Greet arriving patients, verify their details, and collect forms, copays, and outstanding balances. Verify insurance eligibility and benefits before the visit so nobody is surprised at checkout. Fill cancellations from the ASAP list and confirm the next day's column before you leave. Keep patient records, appointment notes, and contact details accurate in the practice management software. Work with the clinical team to keep patients moving and operatories turning over on time. What we're looking for Excellent phone manner and clear written communication. Comfortable on a computer; experience with Open Dental or similar practice management software is a plus. Organized enough to hold a conversation, a ringing phone, and a full waiting room at the same time. Discretion with protected health information and a working understanding of HIPAA. Dependable attendance — the schedule depends on the desk being covered. High school diploma or equivalent; prior dental or medical front-office experience preferred.
