Overview
Registered Nurse - PCU (Travel) in Carbondale, IL. Start date: August 24, 2026. Duration: 13 weeks. Weekly pay: $2,472–$2,593. Guaranteed hours: 36 per week. Shift: Days. Setting: progressive care/inpatient care unit within a clinical environment. This assignment supports a 4:1 patient ratio on the PCU, with no on-call requirements and overtime opportunities if desired.

Responsibilities
- Assess patients to determine mental, physical, and spiritual needs, and contribute to the plan of care.
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to implement and evaluate individualized care plans.
- Explain diagnoses, treatments, and care instructions to patients and responsible persons.
- Demonstrate nursing clinical judgment to recognize and report changes in patient condition.
- Maintain complete and accurate medical records in the patient chart.
- Participate in continuing education and meet core measure responsibilities related to patient care.

Requirements
- Active Illinois Registered Nurse license
- Current CPR/BLS certification
- ACLS certification
- Ability to work in a PCU environment with a 4:1 patient ratio
- Availability to work 36 hours per week, with potential overtime
- Strong communication and teamwork skills in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary setting
