About the Opportunity
A growing organization in Edison, NJ is seeking an Accounting Specialist to join its team. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented accounting professional with experience handling day-to-day accounting functions, reconciliations, and financial reporting. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting accurate financial records and ensuring smooth accounting operations.
Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate financial records by posting daily transactions, receipts, invoices, and payments.
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable activities, including invoicing, payment application, vendor bill processing, and credit memos.
- Perform bank and credit card reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Track and categorize expenses to support budgeting and reporting needs.
- Assist with month-end close activities, including journal entries and account reconciliations.
- Support costing, allocations, and variance analysis as needed.
- Prepare and maintain organized financial reports using Excel and accounting software.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure timely and accurate financial information.
Qualifications
- 2+ years of accounting, bookkeeping, or related experience.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, lookups, and multi-tab reporting.
- Solid understanding of accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, and general ledger processes.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred. Equivalent experience will also be considered.
Requirements
- Ability to commute to Edison, NJ.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
Compensation: $55,000 - $57,000 annually, with flexibility for highly qualified candidates.
