Sr. Staff Accountant

Irvine, CA (Onsite) Contract-to-Hire Opportunity W2 Only | No C2C Arrangements We are partnering with a well-established, industry-leading organization seeking a Senior Staff Accountant to join its accounting team in Irvine. This is a contract-to-hire opportunity offering significant visibility, growth potential, and the opportunity to step into a leadership-focused role within a collaborative accounting environment. The ideal candidate will bring a strong blend of operational accounting and accounts receivable expertise, with the ability to work independently, manage priorities effectively, and contribute to a fast-paced month-end close process. Key Responsibilities Manage complex accounts receivable functions, including cash application, deposit reconciliations, aging analysis, and customer account research Process and reconcile high-volume customer remittances across multiple invoices and orders Prepare journal entries, accruals, and month-end close support schedules Perform bank reconciliations and balance sheet account reconciliations Maintain fixed asset records and related accounting schedules Assist with financial reporting and general ledger maintenance Support audit requests and organize supporting documentation Monitor outstanding receivables and help drive collection and reconciliation efforts Provide guidance and support to junior accounting team members Partner with leadership on special projects and process improvement initiatives Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred 5+ years of progressive accounting experience Strong accounts receivable and cash application experience required Experience with month-end close, reconciliations, and journal entries Proficiency with QuickBooks required ERP system experience preferred Advanced Excel skills Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities Excellent communication skills and attention to detail Ideal Background Senior Accountant or experienced Staff Accountant ready to take the next step in their career Experience working in a high-volume transactional environment Ability to work independently while providing regular updates and meeting deadlines Comfortable interacting with executive leadership and key stakeholders Professional demeanor with strong business communication skills Why Consider This Opportunity?
