Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings - carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.

We're seeking a skilled Maintenance Electrician to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems and equipment within a fast paced manufacturing environment. This role is essential to ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient plant operations.

Duties and responsibilities
Install, maintain, and repair industrial electrical systems, including motors, PLCs, control panels, and power distribution equipment.
Diagnose electrical issues using testing devices such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, and thermal imaging tools.
Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on production machinery to minimize downtime.
Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical diagrams.
Install and troubleshoot industrial automation systems, including sensors, VFDs, and relay logic.
Ensure compliance with electrical codes, safety standards, and company policies.
Collaborate with maintenance, engineering, and production teams to support continuous improvement initiatives.
Document maintenance activities, repairs, and system modifications.
Assist with equipment upgrades, new installations, and plant expansion projects.

Knowledge , Skills and Abilities
Proven experience as an industrial or manufacturing electrician.
Strong knowledge of industrial electrical systems, including 3 phase power, control circuits, and automation.
Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics.
Familiarity with PLCs (Allen Bradley, Siemens, or similar) and industrial automation equipment.
Proficiency with electrical testing and diagnostic tools.
Understanding of NFPA 70E, NEC, and OSHA safety standards.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a high demand environment.
Strong problem solving skills and attention to detail.
Ability to run and install conduit
Knowledge of Arm Flash and Arc blast. Understands the dangers associated with it and how to read Arc flash labels.


Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required.
Completion of an electrical apprenticeship or technical program preferred.
State or journeyman electrician license (strongly preferred)
3+ years of industrial or manufacturing electrical experience.

Working conditions
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Comfortable working at heights, in confined spaces, and around industrial machinery.
Ability to stand, walk, bend, and climb for extended periods.

The range for this position is $28.00 hourly rate - $32.00 hourly rate. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
