Staff Accountant

Staff AccountantThe Staff Accountant is responsible for supporting various accounting and financial activities across the organization. This includes general ledger accounting, account reconciliations, accounts payable coding and approvals, expense reporting oversight and financial statement review. The role requires an individual who is detail-oriented and capable of performing financial analysis while supporting month-end closing processes.Position ResponsibilitiesPrepare journal entries and analysis for general ledger accountsMonthly reconciliation of assigned balance sheet accountsSupport company expense reporting system; including report review, journal entry uploads, administrative support to usersReview accounts payable invoice coding for accuracyAssist with new vendor set up and approvalsReview and code miscellaneous cash paymentsCommunicate with local staff to assist with various accounting tasksPrepare and review monthly financial statementsKnowledge, Skills, & AbilitiesKnowledge of Microsoft Excel with basic ability to create pivot tables and reportsThis is a hybrid positionAbility to communicate effectively across all departmentsEducation & ExperienceDegree in Accounting or Finance requiredMicrosoft Office experience requiredBlackline and Concur software experience a plusExperience with SAAS revenue recognition a plusPay: 53,000-56,000 annuallyWhy Join Us?Lee Enterprises offers competitive wages in a dynamic, interesting work environment with career growth opportunities.
