Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner

Reporting to Chief of Emergency Medicine and working as part of the Emergency Department team, the Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner will participate in all aspects of care including diagnosis, treatment and disposition with a particular focus on compassionate and courteous service. Responsibilities:

• Obtain patient histories
• Perform comprehensive physical examinations to evaluate patients for admission
• Perform bedside diagnostic and therapeutic procedures
• Coordinate tests and consultations
• Implement treatment plans which includes communicating with referring and consulting physicians
• Provide consultation, teaching, and coordination with patients and their family members about treatment and medical care
• Prepare patients for discharge
• Performs other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

• Education: Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies, National Commission of Certification of Physician Assistants is required or master's degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner's Program.
• Current Massachusetts license to practice as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant required.
• Experience: Minimum of 1 year experience in Emergency Medicine or Urgent Care is required. The ability to work independently as well as collaboratively alongside our Emergency Physicians.

Fast-paced, interactive, team-oriented Emergency Department environment with a diverse range of patients and pathology.

Independent Action:

Responds to individual patient-care situations demonstrating knowledge and skills acquired through education, certification and work experience.

Supervisory Responsibility:

None.

Pay Range:

$127,504.00-$161,782.40
