Registered Nurse Cardiac Cath Lab/EP

Job Summary:

The Cardiac Cath Lab/EP Registered Nurse is responsible for providing specialized nursing care to patients undergoing diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures. The role requires expertise in both cath lab and interventional radiology procedures within a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

• 
  Perform and monitor diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures, including cardiac stent placements, angioplasties, and catheterizations.
  
  
• 
  Support and assist physicians during complex procedures, ensuring patient safety and comfort.
  
  
• 
  Administer medications and procedural sedation, maintaining strict patient monitoring and safety protocols.
  
  
• 
  Prepare, operate, and troubleshoot specialized equipment such as IABP, Impella devices, and PICC lines.
  
  
• 
  Document procedures accurately in the EPIC electronic health record system, adhering to compliance standards.
  
  
• 
  Respond promptly to emergency situations, managing patient stabilization as needed.
  
  

Qualifications:

• 
  Valid NY state RN license required prior to submission.
  
  
• 
  Minimum of 2 years recent experience in a cath lab and interventional radiology environment.
  
  
• 
  Certification in ACLS and BLS is mandatory.
  
  
• 
  Demonstrated competency in phlebotomy, IV placement, and patient monitoring during procedures.
  
  
• 
  Proficiency with EPIC electronic health record system required.
  
  
• 
  Ability to work independently in a high-pressure setting with strong critical thinking skills.
