Payroll Coordinator

About the Role We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to join our team for a 26-week on-site assignment. In this role, you will independently perform a full range of high-volume payroll functions within a fast-paced healthcare environment. You will be responsible for ensuring that all employee paychecks and reimbursements are processed efficiently, accurately, and in strict compliance with all applicable regulations and organizational policies. This position requires excellent communication skills, as you will interact regularly with Human Resources, department managers, and general staff to resolve payroll inquiries and ensure a seamless payroll cycle. Key Responsibilities End-to-End Payroll Processing: Independently process payroll for employees across multiple shifts and various job classifications. Compliance & Accuracy: Ensure all payroll processing and reimbursements strictly adhere to federal, state, and local laws, as well as internal company policies. W-2 Management: Oversee and maintain compliance with all Federal Form W-2 reporting requirements. System Navigation: Utilize automated time and attendance systems to track, verify, and process employee hours. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Act as a primary point of contact for payroll inquiries, partnering closely with HR staff, department managers, and employees to resolve discrepancies and provide excellent internal customer service. Required Qualifications Education: High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent. Experience: A minimum of 3 years of experience in employee payroll processing and reimbursements. Regulatory Knowledge: Deep understanding of and compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations. Complex Payroll Handling: Proven experience processing payroll for multiple shifts and diverse job types. Software Proficiency: Hands-on experience using PeopleSoft in a high-volume healthcare environment. Reporting: knowledge of Federal Form W-2 reporting requirements. Time & Attendance: Experience working with automated time and attendance systems.
