Wastewater Treatment Plant Operation And Maintenance Technician Trainee

We are seeking a highly motivated individual to join our team as a Wastewater Treatment Plant Operation and Maintenance Technician Trainee. The trainee will work closely with experienced technicians to learn the necessary skills and knowledge required to operate and maintain a wastewater treatment plant effectively.

Primary Duties/Responsibilities:

• Learn and understand the principles and processes involved in wastewater treatment plant operations.
• Assist in the operation and maintenance of various equipment and systems, including pumps, valves, blowers, and chemical feed systems.
• Monitor and control the treatment process to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and permit requirements.
• Perform routine inspections and tests to assess the efficiency and effectiveness of treatment processes.
• Assist in the collection and analysis of wastewater samples for laboratory testing.
• Assist in the maintenance and repair of equipment and systems, including troubleshooting and resolving operational issues.
• Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
• Attend training sessions and workshops to enhance knowledge and skills in wastewater treatment operations.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation related to plant operations and maintenance activities.

Education/Experience/Background:

• High School Diploma/GED is required.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

• Basic understanding of wastewater treatment processes and equipment is desirable.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot and repair equipment.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow instructions and procedures accurately.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with colleagues.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as required.

Required Certification/Licenses/Training:

• Valid Driver's License.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to work in a physically demanding environment, including working in confined spaces.

Pay Rate: $33.62 per hour.
