Key Responsibilities

• Perform initial and ongoing age-appropriate nursing assessments and reassessments throughout the shift.
• Develop, implement, and update individualized plans of care based on patient needs and physician orders.
• Administer medications correctly utilizing the five rights and evaluate patient response to medications.
• Document all patient care activities in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures.
• Communicate and collaborate with the multidisciplinary health care team, including participation in MDT meetings and bedside rounding.
• Assess patient and family education needs, complete discharge planning, and perform follow-up calls to patients.

Required Qualifications

• Current, active Maine RN license or valid compact state nursing license.
• BLS certification (current and unexpired).
• Required immunizations: Varicella (2 doses or titer), Hepatitis B (3 doses, titer, or signed declination), MMR (2 doses or titer), Tdap, and PPD two-step or titer within the past 12 months.
• Flu shot required during flu season.
• Ability to perform physical demands of the role including standing, walking, lifting up to 30 lbs., pushing patients in wheelchairs and on stretchers, and sustained bending and reaching.
• Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• ACLS certification preferred.
• Experience with nursing assessment and care delivery across all age groups.
