Diesel Maintenance MechanicThis position is responsible for maintenance and preventative maintenance on trucks and trailers while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures.Requirements: 1 year of mechanic or maintenance experience required. You MUST PROVIDE YOUR OWN TOOLS. You also need to have a valid Driver's License and a clean driving record.Functions:To maintain and promote the Tyson safety cultureReceive training as requiredPerform various positions as required/assignedTasks:This position requires a current valid State driver's license. Must supply own tools for minimum maintenance. Must be able to use basic electrical, pneumatic and hand tools. Minimum 1 year basic mechanical or maintenance skills including PM on equipment, oil changes, greasing, repairing or replacing semi tires, brake repair or replacement on semi - trucks and trailers, and minimum 1 year experience operating cutting torch and electric welder. May perform air brake, electrical and air conditioning work. Must have ability to lift up to 50 pounds, climb stairs and ladders up to 20 feet, bend, stretch, reach, work in extreme hot, cold, inclement weather, and odors. Must be able to read and understand assignments. Must be able to communicate both orally and in writing. Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.Rehire Criteria:Former Tyson Team Members must be separated from the company for a minimum of 180 calendar days. Also, if you have worked at Tyson 3 times or more you will not be eligible for rehire.
