ENTRY Phlebotomist I

Phlebotomy Technician

Pay Range: $12.75hr - $17.75hr

Requirement/Must Have:

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Phlebotomy experience is required, including internship or externship experience to learn the basics.
• Minimum of 1-2 years of client-facing customer service experience is required, such as retail or home health aide roles.
• Keyboard and data entry experience is required.
• Ability to handle patients with care and compassion while assisting with check-ins in the lobby through either a self-service kiosk or handheld tablet.
• Willingness to work both in the lobby and in a draw room with patients to provide coverage for breaks.
• Ability to perform both forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing duties following established practices and procedures.
• High level of customer service experience and skills are critical to this role.

Responsibilities:

• Greet patients upon arrival and address questions or concerns with care and compassion.
• Maintain the integrity of the waiting area and assist with patient check-ins at the kiosk.
• Utilize phlebotomy skills to assist with patient procedures and cover for staffing shortages or breaks.
• Create an atmosphere of trust and confidence while explaining scheduled procedures to patients in a safe and accurate manner.
• Demonstrate excellence in customer care with a focus on process skills and sensitivity to confidentiality.
• Perform daily activities accurately and on time under the direction of the area supervisor.
• Maintain a safe and professional environment.
• Maintain required records and documentation.
• Promote a positive image to patients, the public, and the organization while demonstrating a willingness to learn new skills.
