Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
* Consistently and safely operates machines at or above standard levels of operation including waste, quality, efficiency and utilization
* Trouble shoot, identify and correct machine related problems through proper adjustments to various parts of the machine
* Provide innovative solutions for production issues
* Provides support and guidance to less experienced personnel
* Completes appropriate end of shift paperwork, accounting for crewing time, machine time, and production quantities
* Able to inspect and recognize defective product and make machine adjustments to correct cause of defects
* Observes all housekeeping, standard work and safety guidelines
* Mechanical aptitude, demonstrated problem solving skills and effective communication skills - written and verbal are required
Qualifications:
* 1+ years' working in a manufacturing environment as an Extrusion Machine Operator
* Experience and willingness to work 12 hour rotating scheules including every other weekend
* Ability to show up for work prior to shift and be prepared to get the day going on time
* Strong problem solving and troubleshooting experience working with Extrusion Machines
* Excellent communication skills, detailed record keeping per the prescribed frequency
* Analytical and math skills
* Ability to perform quality checks and have an understanding of production measurement tools
* Knowledge of product quality standards
* Comfortable wearing PPE such as hairnets, beard-nets, steel toed shoes/boots, ear protection and bump-caps when required
* Manual dexterity
