Description
- Assess patients across pediatric, adult, and geriatric demographics using standardized evaluations and observational methods.
- Create customized treatment plans that cater to specific short- and long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing preferences.
- Deliver one-on-one speech therapy interventions, focusing on aspects such as language, fluency, voice, and swallowing capabilities.
- Team up with physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, caregivers, and families to design cohesive care strategies.
- Provide education for patients and families to promote progress beyond clinical sessions.
- Conduct occasional inpatient speech therapy evaluations and interventions, assuring continuity in care throughout the treatment experience.
- Ensure timely and accurate documentation compliant with state, federal, and organizational regulations.
- Remain informed about developments in the field through continuous education and collaboration with peers.
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
- Successful completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not yet ASHA-certified.
- State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA preferred.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of employment.
- Expertise in evidence-based treatment methods suitable for all ages, with a solid understanding of developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills with patients, families, and interdisciplinary care teams.
- Capacity to adapt therapy techniques in a manner that respects diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
- Sound clinical judgment paired with effective problem-solving capabilities.
- Familiarity with electronic medical records and documentation standards.
