Location: IRTS-Insight, 1000 Atlantic Avenue, Camden, NJ 08104, USA Pay: $47.00—$48.50 per hour (includes $1.50 shift differential for 2nd shift). Description Registered Nurse Full Time – Residential Program at 1000 Atlantic Avenue, Camden, NJ (Virtua facility). Population: Adolescents. It provides expert consultation and guidance to staff regarding medication and health issues for youth. The schedule includes day, evening, and weekend hours. Reports to: Lead RN Qualifications 18 years of age or older Licensed, registered nurse in the state of New Jersey Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in nursing, social work, psychology, or a related field At least one year of direct care nursing experience with youth Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Valid driver’s license Clean criminal record history clearance and child abuse history clearance Physically able to use therapeutic holds, certified biannually Trauma‑informed care skills to de‑escalate crisis situations Excellent interpersonal skills with diverse backgrounds and cultures Flexible scheduling, available for agency holidays as required Basic computer skills Prioritization under pressure Knowledge of CFG’s mission and values Adherence to program and agency protocols, policies, and procedures Confidentiality and boundary maintenance with staff and youth Active participation in staff meetings and communication processes concerning youth and the program Completion of all required trainings, both upon hire and annually First Aid and CPR certification Collaborative relationship with team and stakeholders, providing assistance as needed Creation of a positive community atmosphere Effective oral, written, and group communication skills Accurate, objective documentation Contribution to facility safety, cleanliness, and security Quality improvement activity participation Willingness to accept direction and supervision Professional dress per Dress Code Policy Reporting suspected abuse or neglect per NJ Child Abuse and Neglect Law Commitment to eliminating restraint and seclusion Collaboration with youth, providing respectful care and guidance Culture‑ and language‑competent service provision Tolerance for working with special needs populations as appropriate Support for constructive visitation and community activities for youth and families Training in Nurtured Heart Approach, including its 3 Stands and Recognitions Specific Job Functions Relationships Establish supportive and therapeutic relationships with youth for safety and responsive residential care Develop and maintain relationships with community providers and parents Collaborate with prescribing medical staff and pharmacy provider as indicated Respect all team members, maximizing potential within roles Collaborate with other team members to deliver high‑standard care Supervision Responsible for daily supervision and maintaining awareness of youth locations at all times. Daily Living Serve as role model and coach for problem‑solving, decision‑making, conflict resolution, independent living, and responsibilities Know current level of functioning and needed interventions Observe and document behavior, physical and emotional symptoms; perform interventions as needed Familiar with all youth treatment plans Implement daily living and behavior plans developed by multidisciplinary team Assist youth with skill‑building activities Educate youth and staff on health, hygiene, and disease prevention Programming Consistently implement program policies, including the behavioral motivational system Promote and generate enthusiasm for programming Consult and communicate with supervisors, directors, and clinicians regarding behavior issues and youth program needs Perform light housekeeping duties for a neat environment Transport or accompany youth to appointments or field trips Administer medication when necessary Nursing Responsibilities Provide medical and behavioral nursing services to the youth Ensure medical, dental, psychological, psychiatric, and other services are met Secure consent for medication administration from parent/guardian Schedule and document medical appointments Consult with Program Director and medical staff on medication system implementation, ordering, storage, administration, and documentation Provide technical support regarding medication systems and procedures Ensure safe and compliant medication handling, including narcotics Monitor electronic medication administration system Ensure staff trained in medication reporting and emergency responses Assist in policy development and updates for client health care Assist youth, staff, and parents in managing mental health issues Provide educational groups as needed; document attendance and relevance Stay current with medication developments; maintain resource files for staff and youth Perform health screening and assessment for new admissions; ongoing assessment for medication side effects and interactions Review youth compliance with medications and provide individual health education Advocate for health needs; manage medication changes and follow‑up calls Make recommendations for additional assessments or visits as needed Provide direction during medical emergencies Support residential programs with RN‑level medical issue responses Other Familiar with all co‑worker job functions for appropriate referrals Assigned to mandatory extra shifts when needed Take on special tasks to support program functioning (ordering supplies, shopping, fire drills, pharmacy runs, errands) Aid in training new employees on the job Drive program vehicles as requested Training Requirements Specific to This Position Handle with Care bi‑annually All Training Academy classes and ongoing training as developed Other Duties As assigned Education Bachelor's degree or higher.
