Legal Assistant/ParalegalThe San Antonio office of Naman Howell has an immediate opening for a Legal Assistant/Paralegal with 3+ years of civil litigation experience, preferably in personal injury defense and transportation litigation. Expectations include assisting a busy and diverse litigation docket from pre-suit investigations through trial and appeal.We offer competitive pay rates with outstanding benefits, including exemplary medical, dental and vision insurance, life insurance, long-term disability, and profit sharing/401(k) after one year of service.This is a full-time position with benefits. Standard hours are 8:00AM to 5:00PM, Monday through Friday.Duties, including but not limited to:Managing overall case volume; maintaining high-volume documents in the Firm's document management systemCommunicating with clients, courts, experts, counsel, etc.Drafting correspondence and pleadings; maintaining client communication and case updatesScheduling and calendaringParticipating in the preparation of discovery responsesSummarizing deposition transcriptsRequesting and analyzing medical records, preparing medical chronologies and billing summariesPreparing client documents for productionPreparing notebooks/indexes for hearings, depositions, mediations, and organizing files for trialE-filing in state and federal courtsEntering timeMaking travel arrangements and submitting expenses reimbursementOther duties as assignedPosition Requirements:3+ years of relevant work experienceHighly organized self-starter who is skilled in anticipating attorneys' needsAttention to detail and qualityStrong organizational and time-management skillsAbility to multi-task and work with minimal supervisionExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsDependable with strong work ethic and professional demeanorStrong proficiency with MS Office suiteBilingual in English/Spanish preferred, but not requiredWork Environment & Physical Requirements:Legal staff members are required to work in the office during standard business hours Monday through Friday. Working from home before or after business hours and/or on weekends may be required occasionally in order to successfully complete one's work.Staff members are exposed to typical office working conditions.
