Gourmand Market is seeking a highly personable, energetic, creative, and organized manager to oversee our front-of-house operations, retail merchandising, inventory, and events.

This person will be one of the primary faces of the Gourmand brand and must genuinely enjoy connecting with customers, leading a team, and creating a welcoming experience. This is a unique, hands-on opportunity for a true jack-of-all-trades who is willing to step into any role when needed. We are a small team, so everyone helps with whatever needs to be done.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a visible, personable ambassador for Gourmand Market.
• Lead front-of-house operations and maintain excellent service standards.
• Oversee each POS station, the barista station, merchandising cases, and extensive shelf retail.
• Ensure all stations and customer-facing areas are clean, organized, stocked, and operating properly.
• Step into any position or operational responsibility when coverage or support is needed.
• Create detailed, visually appealing product displays and maintain them consistently.
• Oversee product placement, staging, signage, seasonal displays, and promotions.
• Manage inventory, restocking, organization, and accurate product counts across front-of-house areas.
• Identify products that are selling, underperforming, or need to be reordered.
• Plan and execute in-house events, including tastings, private parties, pop-ups, live music, trivia, and other experiences.
• Coordinate event vendors, staffing, setup, execution, and breakdown.
• Develop recurring events that increase traffic, customer engagement, and revenue.
• Promote events through social media, email, community outreach, and in-store marketing.
• Build relationships with customers, local businesses, vendors, and community partners.
• Continually identify ways to improve presentation, service, efficiency, and sales.

Qualifications

• Management experience in hospitality, restaurants, retail, events, or a related field.
• Exceptionally personable, approachable, and comfortable engaging with customers.
• Working knowledge of Toast POS, Google Drive and Canva. 
• Strong leadership, communication, organization, and time-management skills.
• A keen eye for staging detailed retail displays and maintaining them.
• Comfortable managing inventory and keeping accurate records.
• Resourceful, dependable, flexible, and confident solving problems.
• Able to multitask and remain calm in a fast-paced environment.
• Willing to take ownership and work without constant direction.
• Available to work evenings, weekends, and special events.
• A food or culinary background is a bonus.
• Social media and content-creation experience is a plus.

You notice what could look, operate, or sell better—and take the initiative to improve it. You are equally comfortable assisting a guest, managing a busy shift, creating a detailed display, checking inventory, making a coffee, or hosting an event.

Schedule and Compensation

Full-time position with a flexible schedule based on business and event needs. Evening and weekend availability is required.
