Managing Director

Reports to: Owner, Indigo LLC Scope: Lift Yoga + PowerUp Pilates, all 6 locations across north metro-Atlanta Position Summary The Managing Director is responsible for the overall business performance, operational leadership, and organizational execution of Indigo LLC and its brands, Lift Yoga and PowerUp Pilates. Working closely with the Owner, the Managing Director translates company vision and strategy into clear priorities, measurable goals, and consistent execution across all locations. This role oversees financial and business performance, studio operations, membership growth and retention, customer experience, team and instructor leadership, programming oversight, and the systems needed to support sustainable growth. The Managing Director serves as the primary day-to-day leader of the organization, ensuring that each brand and location performs at a high level while maintaining its own distinct identity and community. This is a role for someone who sees both the big picture and the details—someone who can analyze the numbers, lead people, identify opportunities, solve problems, create accountability, and make sure things get done. Key Responsibilities Business Performance & Growth Monitor revenue, memberships, retention, attendance, utilization, payroll, and other key performance indicators across brands and locations. Maintain company and studio-level scorecards and provide ownership with regular analysis and recommendations. Identify opportunities to improve revenue, profitability, efficiency, and member retention. Evaluate membership offerings, pricing, promotions, schedules, and programs based on performance. Partner with ownership and marketing on strategies to drive membership growth and retention. Multi-Location Operations Oversee consistent, high-quality operations across all six locations. Identify operational gaps and proactively implement solutions. Ensure studios are appropriately staffed, maintained, and supported. Continuously improve systems and processes for efficiency and scalability. Oversee customer experience and manage escalated issues when necessary. Lead and create accountability for staff and instructors across the organization. Oversee recruiting, hiring, onboarding, development, engagement, and retention. Establish and maintain clear performance and teaching standards. Oversee class schedule strategy to balance client demand, staffing, and financial performance. Conduct regular check-ins and performance conversations and address personnel issues as needed. Anticipate staffing needs and build a strong talent pipeline. Programming & Engagement Oversee programming across both brands, including workshops, specialty series, events, challenges, and other member initiatives. Evaluate programming based on participation, revenue, member demand, and strategic value. Coordinate programming across locations and with marketing. Oversee community and business partnerships that support brand awareness, lead generation, and member engagement. Communication & Culture Ensure effective communication across all locations and teams. Keep staff aligned around company priorities, policies, standards, and initiatives. Foster a culture of professionalism, accountability, collaboration, and ownership while preserving the distinct identities of Lift Yoga and PowerUp Pilates. Key Measures of Success Revenue and membership growth Attendance and capacity utilization Profitability and labor efficiency Staff and instructor retention Operational consistency across locations Programming and partnership performance Clear, actionable business reporting Reduced need for Owner involvement in day-to-day operations Ideal Candidate The ideal Managing Director is a highly organized, analytical, proactive leader with strong business judgment, exceptional follow-through, and excellent people and customer-service skills. They are comfortable with both numbers and people, capable of making decisions independently, and skilled at turning strategy into execution. Experience in multi-location boutique fitness, wellness, hospitality, retail, or another membership-based service business is strongly preferred.
