GCP Data Engineer

Our client, a financial services company, is looking for someone to join their team as a GCP Data Engineer in Charlotte, North Carolina.

This is a yearlong W2 contract with benefits offered

The team is looking for someone with a strong background in Data Engineering, Python, and Google Cloud Platform (GCP). This role will focus on building scalable data pipelines, reusable frameworks, and AI-enabled solutions that support enterprise applications.

What You Will Be Doing

• Design and build data engineering pipelines and frameworks on GCP.
• Develop solutions using BigQuery, Cloud Composer, Dataflow, Pub/Sub, Cloud Functions, and Workflows.
• Optimize BigQuery performance and cost management.
• Design and implement Generative AI applications using LLMs and prompt engineering.
• Build RAG solutions, vector database integrations, and agentic AI applications.
• Integrate AI capabilities into enterprise workflows and applications.
• Support CI/CD processes and AI-assisted development practices.

Required Skills & Experience

• 5+ years of software engineering experience.
• 3+ years of hands-on GCP experience in a data engineering environment.
• Strong Python development skills.
• Experience with BigQuery, Cloud Composer, Dataflow, Pub/Sub, Cloud Functions, and Workflows.
• Hands-on experience with LLMs, transformers, prompt engineering, and the Hugging Face ecosystem.
• Experience with vector databases, RAG architectures, and multi-agent systems.
• Familiarity with Vertex AI, Azure OpenAI, or AWS SageMaker.
• Experience with CI/CD tools and MLOps practices.
