Recreation Therapist

The Monarch at Brooklyn Rehab and Nursing Center is seeking a Recreation Therapist to join our growing team.

Recreation Therapist Job Description:

• Responsible for planning and conducting group and individual recreation programs as assigned by the Director of Recreation

• Responsible for documenting program attendance and participation

• Facilitate independent activities for residents

• Assist residents to and from recreation programs

• All other tasks as assigned by the Director of Recreation

• Work as part of the care plan team in determining therapeutic objectives and goals.

• Create patient specific care plans

• Other duties as required

Recreation Therapist Qualifications/Requirements:

• Minimum of 2 years working with the frail or elderly population.

• Two years' experience in a social or recreational program providing and coordinating services.

• Working knowledge of physical, psycosocial and behavioral needs of the elderly population.

• Excellent oral and written communication skills.

• Certified as a Therapeutic Recreation Specialist is a plus

Shift Needs: Part Time and Per Diem

Pay Rate: Up to $23.88 an hour (based on experience)
