Job Description The X‑ray Technologist is responsible for producing high quality radiographs following CityMD X‑ray protocols, procedures, and Department of Health regulatory compliance in an efficient and accurate manner. Responsibilities Perform common X‑ray studies, including chest, extremities, spine, and abdomen, within recommended timeframes (e.g., chest X‑ray: 3 min). Document studies, maintain QC logbooks, and facilitate communication between providers and radiologists using internal X‑ray and care coordination software. Maintain accurate medical records and compliance with Department of Health requirements. Troubleshoot equipment and software malfunctions and report to Site Manager and X‑Ray Manager. Assist with patient flow and use the flag system to maintain communication among clinical staff. Record vital signs in the EMR. Assist with CLIA‑waived tests, EKGs, splints, sling placement, and appropriate use of crutches. Help maintain cleanliness of waiting rooms, exam rooms, labs, work areas, X‑ray suite, and break rooms. Provide exceptional patient care, safety, and adherence to best practice. Qualifications Graduation from an accredited X‑ray Technologist program. Preferably 4–6 months of previous experience in the field. Strong communication skills for patient instruction and team collaboration. Ability to perform basic X‑ray studies, position patients, adjust exposure factors, and use beam‑restrictive devices to minimize radiation exposure (ALARA). Determine patient X‑ray needs by interpreting provider instructions. Flexibility for full‑time schedule, including weekends. Detail‑oriented with organizational, problem‑solving, and interpersonal skills. Functional knowledge of relevant computer systems. Positive, creative thinker committed to healthy working relationships. Bilingual language skills required or preferred based on location. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required at time of hire. Physical Requirements The role may require lifting light to moderate amounts of weight (e.g., boxes of supplies) and heavy computer use.
