Senior Product Owner

Our client is looking for a Product Owner to join its U.S. Deposits Product team on a 12-month contract. You’ll help build the product management, governance, control, operational, compliance, FDIC, and migration frameworks for a new suite of U.S. deposit products (MCVP1 and MCVP2). You’ll lead product ownership from the business side (this is not a technical role) as the client sets up a new U.S. core banking instance. As the main business owner, you’ll serve as the point of contact for business, core technology, the core banking vendor, and other stakeholders. Your job is to ensure product parameters, system capabilities, and implementation outcomes align with business goals, control requirements, and future product strategy. Key Responsibilities: Product Ownership & Strategic Delivery Act as Product Owner for the new core banking instance, its products and related capabilities Define the product vision, delivery priorities, and implementation roadmap Turn business objectives into requirements, feature priorities, customer journeys, user stories and expected outcomes Own product scope, business readiness and alignment with enterprise standards through launch and post-launch stabilization MCVP1 Product Creation & Launch Lead the build and launch of MCVP1 products, such as escrow-linked deposit accounts for Mortgage Capital Markets customers, along with the processes and documentation behind them Work with core technology and vendor teams to define, validate, and set up product parameters on the core platform Write business requirements detailed enough to support customer needs, sales and operations, configuration, testing and control validation Make sure all stakeholders understand and deliver the product structures, servicing requirements and operational dependencies Controls, Governance & Co-existence Help design and put in place product-level controls, process controls and implementation governance Make sure the MCVP1 and MCVP2 products can run alongside the client’s existing U.S. Business Deposit products without operational, reporting, servicing or control conflicts Spot cross-product dependencies, integration impacts and control gaps that come from running parallel product structures Confirm launch readiness and ongoing business-as-usual management with risk, operations, technology and vendor teams MCVP2 Development & Product Lifecycle Management Shape the MCVP2 product suite (custody deposits, reciprocal deposits, structured CDs) while MCVP1 is being implemented Manage the ongoing lifecycle of both product sets: enhancements, issue resolution, control updates and prioritization Track product performance and operational readiness after launch Keep product documentation, parameter decisions and implementation rationale up to date for governance and knowledge transfer Stakeholder Engagement Work closely with the Product Manager, Core Technology, core banking vendor teams, other product leads, Operations, Risk, Compliance, Implementation and U.S. branch stakeholders Keep product design, technology configuration, control enablement and business readiness aligned and on schedule Follow all governing regulations, internal policies and procedures Make sure day-to-day business controls cover operational risk, regulatory compliance risk, AML/ATF risk, and conduct risk, in line with the client’s risk frameworks and code of business conduct Must-Have Qualifications 8+ years in product ownership, banking product implementation, core banking platforms, or related financial services delivery roles in the U.S. (not a technical product owner) 5+ years launching and managing escrow products, custody deposits, reciprocal deposits, structured CDs, and strategic initiatives for U.S. business banking customers Strong understanding of product parameter configuration, core banking operating models, and product lifecycle management 5+ years working with technology teams and outside vendors to turn business needs into system configuration and delivery outcomes Strong grasp of governance, controls and risk, especially in new product implementations or parallel product operations #J-18808-Ljbffr Phyton Talent Advisors
