We are:

We are looking for a new recruit to our team! Our clients are mainly small business owners in our surrounding communities (retail, restaurants, service, etc). New employees start with bookkeeping and payroll processing tasks.

We are in contact with our clients daily. This job is not a snooze and the workday passes quickly. There is ample room for growth beyond entry-level work. The traditional path involves getting some experience with tax prep for the clients you handle, but there are many roads. Those of us who love this job find it rewarding to support the small business community in a field that is often a challenge for them. We find that folks who are involved in small businesses already tend to better understand our clients. We can train you on the accounting side of things. Given the time of year, it is a help if you already have some experience.

You are:

Avid learner. You know when to ask for help and when to just handle it. You can multitask. You have some familiarity with financial statements and/or experience with payroll, whether from accounting classes or from completing these tasks for a business (or something else). You have an eye for pattern recognition and a sharp memory.

You like talking to your clients. You can face your fears of using the telephone! (Or perhaps you lack that fear altogether.) You can work independently, finding efficiencies in how you structure your day.

Starting hourly rate is between $20-24/hr with room for growth as you learn the job and gain speed and independence. This can evolve into a salaried position. We will provide study materials for becoming an Enrolled Agent after fully trained on the day-to-day aspects of the job.

Softwares we use include Microsoft Office, Asure HR/Payroll, Intuit products (QuickBooks, both online and desktop), and a degree of whatever our clients are using--Google sheets, Toast, Square, etc.
