# Job Opportunity – Progressive Care Unit Registered Nurse – North Carolina**Start Date:** August 31, 2026 **Location:** Asheville, North Carolina **Compensation:** Details provided to qualified applicants **Schedule:** Every other weekend required; Day and Night shift positions available; Standard shift coverage with unit rotation to stepdown and medical-surgical units as needed**Highlights:** - 44-bed Progressive Care Unit specializing in neuro and trauma care in a K Tower facility- Nurse-to-patient ratios of 4:1 at standard grid, 5:1 when stretched- Comprehensive technology and equipment including Cerner EMR, IV pumps, PCA pumps, chest tubes, trach management, and patient lifts- Collaborative team environment with dedicated Charge Nurses, RNs, CNAs, and Health Unit Coordinators per shift- Hands-on experience with complex procedures including neuro/spinal assessments, chest tube management, blood transfusions, and lumbar drain care- Navy blue scrub dress code; professional and team-focused unit culture**Requirements:** - Current and valid Registered Nurse license- ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications (required)- Documented experience in neuro and trauma care (required)- Ability to float to stepdown and medical-surgical units- Strong clinical skills in IV infusions, PCA pump management, chest tube care, feeding tube placement, C-collar placement, and TLSO bracing**Why It's a Great Opportunity:** This Progressive Care Unit offers RNs the chance to develop advanced skills in neuro and trauma care while working alongside a dedicated, patient-focused team.
