Job ID: 5901644 Application Deadline: Sep 04, 2026 11:59 PM (Central Standard Time) Starting Date: To Be Determined Position Type: Full-Time Job Summary:The Coordinator, Community School, supports the district’s mission to inspire and prepare all students with the confidence, courage, and competence to achieve their dreams, contribute to their community, and engage in a lifetime of learning by planning, developing, evaluating, and improving all programming across departments and programs such as ECFE, VPK, DOEE, Indian Education, and Community Engagement. The position implements continuous program improvement processes, seeks and administers grants and funding sources, and serves as the primary liaison to external agencies on community relationship-building. The Coordinator administers assigned budgets, ensures equitable and effective use of resources and technologies, and supports district and departmental goals and improvement plans. The position builds staff capacity to advance system-wide and departmental initiatives, fosters collaboration across programs, departments, and community organizations, and supervises assigned staff. The Coordinator coordinates and oversees a district and community professional development center on-site. They will support in-person, synchronous, and asynchronous learning and services as needed, participate in district leadership activities, and maintain flexible work hours to meet the needs of the district and department. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Demonstrates management skills to ensure effective, equitable, and compliant operations of early learning programs. (25%)Manages resources aligned to program outcomes; applies professional judgment in selecting high-quality instructional materials. Collaborates with leaders to develop and manage budgets; ensures equitable and effective use of district, department, and grant resources. Identifies and administers grant opportunities; makes budget recommendations aligned with program needs. Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local policies, regulations, and Board policies. Supports implementation of ECFE, VPK and preschool summer programs. Applies equitable decision-making; analyzes scholar achievement data to inform program improvements. Remains current with research and trends in curriculum, instruction, assessment, and digital learning. Identifies and addresses staff professional learning needs through assessment tools and aligned opportunities. Leads collaborative projects across departments and external agencies; acts as primary liaison with district sites and early learning programs; integrates technology to enhance scholar and adult learning. Develops and implements program budgets focused on improving student achievement; writes and monitors grants to secure additional funding sources. Maintains compliance with state and federal reporting requirements and trains staff as needed. Supervises site maintenance and security to ensure a safe environment for students, families, staff, and community members. Serves as site leader, facilitating collaboration among building partners and community organizations. Creates priority schedule for professional development center as well as pricing matrix, food options, oversight of technology, and user group needs. Provides performance leadership by developing staff capacity, supervising personnel, and promoting accountability. (20%)Builds staff capacity to apply expertise for maximum impact; coordinates and delivers professional learning opportunities. Provides guidance, direction, and work coordination for program staff and support personnel. Coordinates equitable hiring processes; recommends employment decisions. Supervises direct reports, providing formative feedback, timely performance evaluations, and support for continuous improvement. Delegates tasks appropriately; establishes procedures and monitors performance to ensure efficient and effective operations. Administers all aspects of staff hiring, training, observation, and evaluation for licensed and non-licensed personnel. Provides structures for reflective practice, inquiry, and action research to monitor the effectiveness of interventions and improve instruction. Collaborates with teachers to analyze student and program data, identify achievement gaps, and develop targeted strategies to improve learning outcomes. Leads the development and implementation of marketing and outreach strategies to increase program awareness among district families with children ages birth-kindergarten. Provides strategic leadership for early learning programs to align with district mission, vision, and core values. (20%)Aligns functions with the mission and strategic priorities of the District; participates in initiatives, training, committees, and task forces. Develops and communicates a shared vision for program areas; fosters family/caregiver engagement and advisory councils. Leads collaborative efforts to design and implement early learning programs; serves as liaison with Head Start and other community partners. Plans and oversees continuous improvement processes; establishes clear, equitable outcomes informed by research, standards, and data. Initiates and sustains collaboration across leaders, staff, and organizations; partners with Equity staff to provide culturally responsive professional learning and ensure equity in planning, development, and evaluation. Develops and administers a community needs assessment, as required by ECFE statute, and uses findings to inform future programming. Coordinates VPK programming while following MDE requirements Builds a positive sense of community by honoring the cultural traditions, values, and identities of families served. Demonstrates professionalism and models integrity in all aspects of leadership and program management. Initiates communication and collaboration with colleagues, staff, and administrators; shares timely and constructive information. Cultivates positive relationships; participates in professional inquiry, district/state meetings, and implementation of the District’s mission. Remains current in content knowledge and pedagogy; participates in professional organizations; provides leadership to peers. Models professionalism in demeanor and interactions; represents the District positively. Maintains honesty, integrity, and confidentiality; demonstrates adaptability, reliability, and advocacy for scholars. Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills to build positive relationships and ensure effective communication.
