Laundry Attendant

Home2 Suites is looking for a Laundry Attendant to be responsiblefor providing clean and high-quality linens, towels, uniforms, and othertextiles for the hotel. This role ensures all laundry items are properlywashed, dried, folded, and stored according to hotel standards, supporting aclean and comfortable guest experience. Responsibilities Provideprofessional and courteous service at all times. Receiveand sort soiled linen into appropriate containers. Processsorted linen utilizing the washers, dryers, sheet spreaders, ironers, andfeeder/folders ensuring finished product is inspected and meets qualitystandards. Maintainassigned work area in a clean and safe condition. NotifySupervisor/Manager of malfunctioning equipment, supplies needed, damagedlinens, to ensure laundry operation is running at maximum efficiency level Mustpractice safe use of all cleaning agents. Must beable to follow all safety practices such as wearing personal protectiveequipment, reading chemical warning labels, and other safe work practices. Must beable to use two-way radios, telephones, general office equipment,industrial washer, dryer, irons, vacuum, floor buffer, wet vac and otherhousekeeping equipment. Maintainhigh standards of personal appearance and grooming, which includecompliance with dress code and uniform requirements. Complywith brand standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hoteloperations. Establishand maintain good communications and teamwork with fellow employees andother departments within the hotel. Participatein all-employee meetings, events and other functions required bymanagement. Befamiliar with all policies, hotel rules and hotel terminology. Performany other duties as requested by management. Qualifications Highschool diploma or equivalent preferred. Knowledgeof hotel, housekeeping and hotel laundry operations required. Flexibilityto work various shifts, including evenings and weekends. Long hourssometimes required. Must beable to work weekends and holidays as needed. Exhibitsinitiative, responsibility and flexibility. Excellenttime management skills. Friendly,cooperative manner and patience in dealing with customers and staff. Must beable to communicate clearly and professionally in English with coworkers,employees, owners, and management, both written and verbally. Must beable to understand and follow directions, guidelines and work objectivesas set forth by the supervisor. Must be able to understand the potential hazardsand subsequent procedures involved in working around commercial cleaningagents and light machinery. PhysicalRequirements Frequentlyrequired to stand, walk, sit, use hands to handle or feel objects, reachwith hands and arms, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl,talk, or hear. Occasionallylift and/or move up to 50 pounds and pushing and/or pulling approximately100lbs. Must becapable of bending over, stooping and working on the knees in order toperform such functions as scrubbing commodes, tubs, cleaning tiles andputting away items. Abilityto reach overhead, utilize both hands, to bend over and to stoop andkneel. Abilityto operate light equipment such as vacuum cleaners and dishwashers. Must becapable of climbing and descending stairs during their shift. Must becapable of moving light furniture, (i.e. chairs, tables, etc.) in order toclean under these items. Abilityto stand during the entire 8 hour shift.
