Company Overview: A global real estate private equity and investment management firm with $5.6 billion in gross assets under management is seeking a Project Accountant. The role involves day-to-day accounting and financial management of assigned real estate development projects. Job Responsibilities: Maintain project budgets, commitments, and related financial information in Yardi. Review and code invoices to the appropriate contract, cost category, and accounting period. Monitor actual and committed costs against budget and identify variances. Prepare and submit lender and other capital-source draws, including required supporting documentation. Reconcile funding receipts, disbursements, outstanding invoices, and related general ledger activity. Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting for assigned development projects. Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, supporting schedules, and other month-end close workpapers. Develop a strong understanding of assigned projects and proactively communicate significant issues. Participate in project meetings and work collaboratively with various stakeholders. Look for opportunities to standardize, automate, and improve recurring accounting and reporting processes. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field. 2–5 years of accounting experience; real estate, development, construction, or property accounting experience preferred. Knowledge of GAAP and experience with general ledger accounting, month-end close, reconciliations, and financial reporting. Experience with development budgets and construction/lender draws preferred. Yardi experience preferred; strong Excel skills required.
