Assistant Gelato Chef – Production & Kitchen Operations Role Overview We are looking for a reliable and detail-oriented Assistant Gelato Chef to support our gelato production, kitchen operations, and inventory management. This role works closely with the Head Chef / COO and is key to maintaining product quality, consistency, and an organized kitchen. This is a hands-on position focused on execution, cleanliness, and daily operational discipline. Key Responsibilities Prepare bases, mix ingredients, pasteurize, churn, and properly store gelato Ensure consistency in flavor, texture, and batch quality Label, date, and organize all produced gelato and ingredients Maintain a clean, organized, and food-safe kitchen at all times Follow all health, safety, and sanitation standards Clean and maintain equipment (pasteurizer, batch freezer, mixers, etc.) Support prep work and production scheduling as needed Inventory & Supplies Track inventory of ingredients, packaging, and supplies Report low stock levels and assist with ordering Rotate inventory (FIFO) to minimize waste Receive and properly store deliveries Support & Teamwork Work closely with the Head Chef / COO to execute production plans Assist with wholesale and catering preparation when needed Support training of new kitchen staff when required Qualifications Previous experience in a kitchen, bakery, pastry, gelato, or ice cream production environment preferred Strong attention to detail and cleanliness Ability to follow recipes and procedures preciselyOrganized, reliable, and proactive Ability to lift heavy containers and work in cold environments Food Handler Certification (or willingness to obtain) What We’re Looking For Someone hands-on, consistent, and dependable Comfortable with repetitive production tasks Responsible in cleanliness and organization Wants to grow with a small but expanding food brand Schedule & Compensation Full-time Competitive hourly pay based on experience Opportunity for growth as the company expands #J-18808-Ljbffr Gelato La Boca
