Joining RWJBarnabas Health means becoming part of an organization committed to clinical excellence, innovation, and delivering outstanding patient-centered care.As an Outpatient Infusion Center Registered Nurse (RN), a typical day may include:Performing comprehensive nursing assessments and coordinating individualized plans of care for patients receiving oncology and infusion therapiesSafely administering chemotherapy, immunotherapy, iron infusions, IV hydration, non-chemotherapy infusions, blood transfusions, therapeutic phlebotomies, injections, and other prescribed infusion treatmentsMonitoring patients throughout treatment, recognizing changes in condition, managing infusion-related reactions, and responding promptly to clinical concernsProviding expert care, maintenance, and assessment of venous access devices while ensuring patient comfort and safetyDelivering compassionate education to patients and families regarding treatment plans, medications, symptom management, side effects, and self-care following infusion therapyCollaborating closely with physicians, advanced practice providers, pharmacists, and the multidisciplinary oncology team to coordinate seamless, patient-centered careConducting telephone triage, assessing patient concerns, and providing timely clinical guidance to support treatment continuityCoordinating multiple appointments while ensuring efficient patient flow and continuity throughout the treatment processMaintaining accurate documentation within the electronic medical record while adhering to patient safety, infection prevention, and organizational standardsBuilding meaningful relationships with patients and families through compassionate communication, empathy, and a commitment to delivering exceptional outpatient oncology careThis Role Might Be For You If:You are passionate about delivering compassionate, patient-centered infusion and oncology careYou enjoy building lasting relationships with patients throughout their treatment journeyStrong assessment skills and sound clinical judgment guide your nursing practiceYou thrive in a fast-paced outpatient environment where organization and adaptability are essentialYou enjoy educating patients and empowering them to actively participate in their careCollaboration with physicians and multidisciplinary teams is central to how you deliver exceptional patient outcomesYou are committed to evidence-based practice, lifelong learning, and providing the highest standard of oncology nursing careTo be considered for this Outpatient Infusion Center Registered Nurse opportunity, you must hold an active New Jersey Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing and current American Heart Association (AHA) BLS certification. An Associate Degree in Nursing is required, while a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is preferred. Oncology nursing experience is preferred but not required. Candidates with hospital, subacute, or ambulatory care nursing experience are encouraged to apply.
