Are you a Senior Electrical Engineer who enjoys hands-on design, solving complex system-level problems, and seeing your designs move from concept to production?

Our client is looking for an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to join their engineering team in Brooklyn Park, MN. This is a key technical role focused on the design and development of next-generation industrial printing systems , including advanced print controllers and printheads.

You’ll work at the intersection of embedded systems, FPGA, PCB design, power electronics, and system-level electrical engineering , partnering closely with software, firmware, mechanical, test, manufacturing, and product teams.

This is an opportunity to take meaningful ownership of the electrical architecture and development process—from initial concept and circuit design through prototype development, testing, troubleshooting, product launch, and production.

What You'll Do

• Lead the electrical design and development of industrial printing systems from concept through production.
• Design and develop electrical systems for print controllers and printheads .
• Develop electrical architectures, technical specifications, schematics, BOMs, and PCB layouts.
• Perform detailed circuit analysis and lead PCB/PCBA design, bring-up, troubleshooting, and production launch .
• Work with FPGA and high-performance SoC application processors as part of embedded system development.
• Create and maintain comprehensive electrical design and engineering documentation.
• Lead prototype development, laboratory testing, and field testing.
• Diagnose complex electrical and system-level issues and drive solutions through implementation.
• Evaluate designs against applicable industry standards and ensure compliance throughout development.
• Partner closely with Software, Firmware, Mechanical, Test, and Project Management teams to deliver successful products.
• Collaborate with manufacturing on product improvements, process improvements, and production support.
• Provide technical leadership throughout the product lifecycle.

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• 8+ years of electrical design engineering experience , preferably involving embedded systems.
• Strong, hands-on FPGA experience .
• Deep understanding of embedded systems, FPGA, power electronics, and system-level electrical design .
• Experience with PCB design, layout, and PCBA development .
• Proficiency with Altium .
• Experience taking hardware from initial design through prototype, bring-up, testing, troubleshooting, and production .
• Ability to read, develop, and analyze complex electrical schematics and circuit designs.
• Industrial automation or manufacturing experience is highly desirable.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to solve complex technical problems.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across engineering and business functions.
• Ability to work independently while also providing technical leadership within a collaborative team.

Work Environment

This is an onsite position in Brooklyn Park, MN . The primary environment is a clean engineering/office setting, with periodic exposure to the manufacturing environment, including machine noise and dust. The role also involves periodic standing and walking.

Compensation

Starting at $120,000+ annual base salary , depending on experience and qualifications.
