Position Summary

Under general supervision of the Sr. Manager of Financial Reporting, the Financial Reporting Accountant prepares periodic financial statements.

Major Tasks and Responsibilities

• Assists in the preparation of accurate and timely SEC filings including supporting work papers and binders.
• Interacts with other departments and external auditors to ensure complete, accurate, and timely filings.
• Performs research on GAAP and SEC reporting requirements, including assessing the impact on accounting and financial reporting processes.
• Assists with financial statement preparation and month end close.
• Assists with the preparation of management, audit committee and other reports.
• Produces ad hoc analysis and special projects.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance, with CPA or actively working towards CPA
• 2+ years of finance/accounting experience including SEC reporting experience
• Accounting knowledge of GAAP & SEC technical reporting requirements
• Big 4 or large regional public accounting experience preferred
• Advanced Microsoft Office skills
• Experience in a transportation organization preferred but not required
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Strong organization skills with astute attention to detail
• A strong work ethic and willingness to perform hands-on duties
