The Department of Psychology at Baldwin Wallace University invites applications for a tenure-track, Assistant Professor position beginning in Fall of 2027. A PhD in Psychology is required; however, candidates that have not yet had their degree conferred may be considered with an expected completion of the degree within the first year of employment.  Any applied area of specialization (e.g., Clinical, Counseling, I/O, Sport, Forensic, Community, Health, etc.) will be considered. Special consideration will be given to applicants with a record of community partnerships and/or service-learning opportunities involving undergraduate students.

We are primarily a teaching University and are looking for applicants with well-developed teaching skills. BW uses a 16-week semester schedule, and all faculty members teach a total of 24 credit hours across the two semesters. Faculty are expected to be able to teach any of the required courses in the major, including Introduction to Psychology, Statistics, SPSS, Research Methods and Thesis, in addition to topical seminars in their area of specialization.

The Psychology Department currently has 7 full-time members representing most of the main sub-disciplines in the field. The Psychology major is housed within the School of Health Sciences and is one of the largest majors on campus. The Neal Malicky Center has dedicated research space, and it is expected that faculty members will involve undergraduate students in their scholarly pursuits. The successful candidate will engage in an active program of applied research (either on campus or off campus with a healthcare/nonprofit/ community agency partner) where undergraduates will be able to improve their skills and make meaningful contributions.

Required Qualifications:

• Ph.D. in Psychology (ABD considered)

Preferred Qualifications:

• Undergraduate teaching experience
• Service learning, internship, or practicum course experience
• Record of community partnerships or research program involving undergraduate students
• Record of successful teaching and mentorship of diverse ethnic, cultural, and socioeconomic student populations as well as first generation students
• If a Counseling or Clinical Specialization, License or license eligible
