Contract | Nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide critical care nursing for a 20-bed Neuro ICU at a 2:1 patient-to-nurse ratio, managing complex neurological conditions including stroke, head bleeds, neuro disorders, and patients requiring dialysis or ventricular/EVD monitoring
• Titrate vasoactive and sedation drips including Levophed, phenylephrine, Versed, paralytics, heparin, insulin, nicardipine, and vasopressin
• Collaborate with an in-house intensivist (daytime), on-call intensivist (nights), and 24/7 APP and Respiratory Therapy coverage
• Work alongside nurse aides (10:1 aide-to-patient ratio) and coordinate with monitor technicians observing telemetry from a remote floor
• Adhere to preference and block scheduling practices; expected schedule includes approximately 3 weekend shifts (Saturday/Sunday) per month, 1 Friday per month, and 1 Monday per month
• May be assigned to holiday shifts on a rotational, as-needed basis

Required Qualifications

• Active RN licensure
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Demonstrated ICU and critical care nursing experience
• Experience titrating drips in a critical care setting
• COVID-19 vaccination required (medical or religious exemption requests considered on a case-by-case basis)
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior experience in a Neuro ICU or neurocritical care environment
• Familiarity with ventilators, BiPAP, high-flow oxygen, and related respiratory therapy equipment
• Experience caring for patients with EVD/ventriculostomy or requiring continuous renal replacement therapy
