General Manager

Position Overview The General Manager is responsible for the culture and overall leadership and direction of the store. They ensure team engagement, execute goals, set expectations, apply accountability, and shape the overall Caribou Brand experience. The role maximizes opportunities for sales and traffic growth and embodies Caribou’s purpose: creating day‑making experiences that spark a chain reaction of GOOD. Responsibilities Doing Demonstrates the poise, enthusiasm, and excellence of an Assistant General Manager. Team Models, upholds, and implements Caribou policies, practices, and standards. Ensures the store is fully staffed for upcoming shifts, maintains accurate schedules, and plans for future staffing needs. Owns the recruiting process: job posts, sourcing, interview, hiring, and onboarding. Keeps the team engaged and energized. Executes Role Based Training and LTO/Promotional Window training. Communicates expectations and the rationale clearly to the team. Maintains accurate records in Workday. Ensures overall safety of team members and guests. Coaches, trains, and develops the team toward their best performance and growth. Provides proactive, thoughtful coaching and feedback. Guest Exemplifies an incredible guest experience at all times. Trains the team to deliver best‑in‑class service and handles guest recovery. Owns Guest Satisfaction metrics and results. Handles complaints and issues with a sincere, solution‑oriented approach. Acts as a brand ambassador in the community. Quality / Sales / Profit Takes full ownership of store success and acts as the business owner. Ensures food safety, sanitization, and health and safety standards and applies company tools. Champions execution of standard operating procedures. Shows aptitude with store systems (CrunchTime, GoSpotCheck, EcoSure, TeamworX, Medallia, Workday, Beekeeper). Understands P&L to build financial plans and fiscal responsibility. Creates energy and focus on meeting and exceeding sales goals. Manages inventory control and waste efficiently. Supports in‑store sales building activities and high‑quality operations. Maintains a clean and safe environment per company and ServSafe guidelines. Minimizes loss through strict cash handling, team training, and compliance with accounting and banking requirements. Qualifications Required Minimum 2–3 years of restaurant, retail, or guest service management experience and/or combined experience and education. Experience with sales building, P&L statements, recruiting, and training. 18 years of age or older. Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation. Preferred ServSafe Certified or certification within 90 days of employment. High school diploma or GED equivalent.
