Job Title: Laboratory Technician

Location: Shreveport, LA
Job Type: 12-Month Contract
Pay Rate: $22.00–$23.00/hour

Position Overview

Our client is seeking a  Laboratory Technician to support laboratory operations within the oil and gas manufacturing industry. This role is responsible for performing quality assurance testing, supporting additive selection and fluid design, maintaining laboratory equipment, and ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and operational standards. The ideal candidate has strong analytical skills, laboratory experience, and a commitment to maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform quality assurance testing on products to ensure compliance with specifications.
• Support advanced additive selection and fluid design activities.
• Ensure laboratory deliverables are completed accurately and on schedule.
• Maintain laboratory equipment in clean, safe, and operational condition.
• Dispose of laboratory waste according to established procedures.
• Conduct routine laboratory audits to ensure compliance with quality and operational standards.
• Prepare technical presentations for internal teams and customers.
• Provide technical support to Design/Technical Engineers and Product Champions.
• Perform risk assessments before laboratory tasks to identify and mitigate safety or quality risks.
• Participate in customer Service Quality Meetings and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
• Support Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) and Quality programs.
• Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) and comply with all HSE policies.
• Maintain required safety certifications and training.

Required Qualifications

• Experience working in a laboratory environment.
• Knowledge of laboratory procedures, testing methods, and safety protocols.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
• Relevant education or certification in Chemistry, Biology, Laboratory Science, Engineering Technology, or a related technical field.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience in the oil and gas industry.
• Familiarity with laboratory instrumentation, testing equipment, or laboratory software.
