Medical Records Technician
Serve as a Medical Records Technician within the Correspondence Section to process requests for patient medical information from patients, their authorized representative, and other third parties.
Maintain control logs for tracking status of requests and other pertinent information.
Research medical record system to include, but not limited to outpatient, mental health, social work services, family advocacy program, radiology, and pathology records for specific medical information.
Prepare response to inquiry and ensures only relevant factual information is released.
Communicate both orally and in writing in order to elicit information from patients.
Operate various office machines such as a facsimile (FAX), copier, and computer terminal in order to reproduce, transmit, obtain and produce materials in the proper format.
Protect confidential patient medical information in order to protect the patients right to privacy about medical conditions.
