Engineering Technician

This Engineering Technician position is responsible for onsite and reporting support on various projects including documentation, field inspection, and project reports. The Engineering Technician will support a variety of roadway projects, which require regular travel to various project job sites. The role is primarily onsite and hands-on with work locations varying based on project assignments. Some project design support may be required to support project across our Engineering team. Duties and Responsibilities Monitor onsite activities for projects across multiple disciplines and companies Act as an inspector on job sites following contract and project guidelines Perform standardized or prescribed assignments involving a sequence of related operations Includes a role as a hands-on Field Technician Initiate action as needed to ensure projects follow contract and compliance obligations Conduct standardized tests for multiple projects and report out on results to project teams Gather and maintain data including testing results and drawings Schedule and attend job meetings Assemble and distribute meeting minutes Provide support to the Project Team to help ensure those project deliverables are on time, within budget and at the required level of quality Perform other duties as required/directed Requirements An Associate’s degree or equivalent work experience Bachelors of Science degree in engineering is preferred 0-4 years of experience, preferably in engineering, project or construction management; transportation and construction industries preferred IDOT Doc Control certification is preferred Proficiency in MS Office suite is required Experience with Microstation or AutoCAD and project management software (eBuilder/Procore) preferred Strong interpersonal, administrative, and organizational skills Effective oral and written communication skills Proficient analytical and problem-solving skills Ability to balance multiple priorities, work and communicate effectively in a team environment, and meet deadlines Company Benefits Medical, Dental, Vision insurance options for employees and family Health Savings and Flexible Spending Account options available Company-provided group life, short and long-term disability, and voluntary life options Matching 401(k) retirement plan Paid time off and holidays Flexible work schedules Student debt repayment resources available Professional development and tuition assistance ID Theft protection Company-sponsored social events Equal Opportunity Employer Veterans/Disabled An Equal Opportunity Employer.
