Since its founding in 1991, ICAN has remained dedicated to its mission to provide access to out-of-school time opportunities that empower all youth and their families to pursue what is most meaningful to them. ICAN’s holistic out-of-school time program model ensures that youth thrive academically, socially, and creatively through four key interconnected pillars: Academic Support, Positive Youth Development, Enrichment and Future Exploration & Community and Family Support. You Will Serve As The Bridge Between ICAN, Our Corporate And Community Partners, Volunteers, And Internal Teams, Ensuring Every Engagement Creates Value For Our Youth, Strengthens Community Awareness, And Builds Long-term Partnerships. Reporting To The Director Of Community Partnerships, You Will Do This By Corporate & Community Partnerships (35%) Develop, strengthen, and steward relationships with corporations, civic organizations, faith-based organizations, community groups, and other partners that support ICAN's mission through volunteerism, in-kind donations and community engagement. Identify and cultivate new partnership opportunities that increase community awareness and create pathways, volunteer engagement, in-kind support, sponsorships, and long-term philanthropic relationships. Represent the organization at networking events, community meetings, and outreach opportunities to expand ICAN's presence throughout the East Valley. Partner with department leaders across ICAN to identify organizational needs and connect those needs with volunteer talent, corporate partnerships, in-kind resources, and community engagement opportunities. Collaborate with the Advancement Team to strategically cultivate relationships that have the potential to grow into sponsorships, philanthropic partnerships, committee involvement, advocacy, and other long-term engagement opportunities. Community & Volunteer Engagement (35%) Lead the planning and coordination of corporate and community engagement experiences from initial inquiry through post-event stewardship. Coordinate logistics, communications, scheduling, orientations, and volunteer preparation while ensuring volunteers feel welcomed, informed, and connected to ICAN's mission. Coordinate career exploration, STEAM, financial literacy, and other specialty volunteer experiences that enrich youth programming. Coordinate in-kind giving opportunities that address identified organization needs, offset costs and strengthen ICAN’s programs and operations. Capture stories, photos, and impact to support stewardship and future engagement while creating experiences that encourage volunteers to return year after year. Partner with the Advancement and Marketing teams to develop communications that promote volunteer opportunities, recognize community partners, and highlight the impact of volunteer engagement. Volunteer Systems, Strategy & Impact (30%) Evaluate volunteer engagement trends and identify new audiences, recruitment channels, and partnership opportunities that support the continued growth of ICAN's volunteer program. Maintain volunteer records, database information, background check documentation, and participation tracking to support accurate reporting and stewardship efforts. Track and analyze volunteer engagement metrics, including volunteer participation and hours, repeat engagement, in-kind contributions, volunteer satisfaction, and corporate and community partner engagement to evaluate impact and inform future strategy. Oversee the systems, communication, scheduling, and processes that support volunteer engagement from onboarding through placement, including volunteer orientations, site visits, and coordination across ICAN locations. Evaluate volunteer processes and recommend improvements that create efficient systems and exceptional experiences for volunteers and staff. Support the continued development of ICAN's individual volunteer strategy by identifying opportunities for future growth and expansion as organizational priorities evolve. Coordinate across internal departments to align volunteer engagement with organizational needs and ensure experiences are well-planned, appropriately staffed, aligned with youth safety expectations, and positive for youth, volunteers, and staff. Some evening and weekend hours required to support volunteer events and community engagement activities. Starting pay is based on experience, skills, operational knowledge, and alignment with ICAN’s nonprofit compensation philosophy and organizational needs. Requirements Experience & Skills About We care more about who you are than what you've done. That said, here are some highlights of the type of person and background we believe would thrive: 3–5 years of experience in community engagement, volunteer management, nonprofit development, corporate partnerships, community relations, or a related field. Experience building and maintaining professional relationships with community organizations, businesses, or volunteers. Strong relationship-building, networking, and interpersonal communication skills. Excellent project management and organizational skills with the ability to coordinate multiple events and priorities simultaneously. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work collaboratively across departments while balancing competing priorities. Demonstrated ability to think strategically while executing day-to-day responsibilities. Experience coordinating volunteer or community engagement initiatives preferred. Experience with donor, volunteer, or CRM databases preferred. Comfortable representing ICAN at community events and public functions. Valid Arizona driver's license and dependable transportation.
