Our Die Makers build and repair steel rule cutting dies used in rotary and flatbed die-cutting applications for packaging and converting customers. If you've built dies before-or you're a strong hands-on manufacturing tech ready to grow-this can be a great long-term career.What You'll DoConstruct, assemble, and repair steel rule cutting dies and related tooling to customer/job specificationsCut, bend, and notch steel rule using manual and automated equipment (example: Serviform/EasyBender or similar)Insert, grind, and secure rule into die boards to meet tolerance, fit, and alignment requirementsRead and interpret CAD drawings, blueprints, and job ticketsRubber dies and operate rubbering/blanking/stripping equipment as neededMake revisions and modifications to existing dies based on updated specificationsInspect materials and finished dies; correct nonconformances when foundPerform preventative maintenance (cleaning, adjustments, minor repairs)Track work, time, and job updates in computer-based systemsMaintain tool organization and a clean, safe workstationCommunicate clearly with CAD, production, and leadership to clarify specs and solve problemsSupport training/mentoring of less experienced team members as assignedQualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent required1–3 years of die making, die cutting, or related manufacturing experience preferredAbility to interpret blueprints/CAD drawings/specifications accuratelyComfort using rule bending equipment and hand toolsStrong attention to detail and pride in quality workmanshipBasic computer skills; familiarity with ERP/job tracking systems is a plusTeam-oriented, dependable, and committed to safety and continuous improvementWork Environment / Physical RequirementsManufacturing environment; moderate-to-high noise and dust; PPE requiredStanding on concrete for extended periods; frequent bending/stoopingRepetitive hand/arm motions with hand toolsLifting up to 65 lbs (over 65 lbs with assistance)
